Intro

Financially, it doesn't seem to make much sense to invest in hardware to mine bitcoins unless you're going to do it on a massive scale in a country with very low electricity costs... or, you don't pay for your electricity, in which case it probably makes sense :)

I have a laptop with an Nvidia based card, so I wanted to play about with Cuda based mining software, it's not a simple process to get GPU based mining software up and running though as it's not too well supported. Nvidia is not an ideal platform for mining, the best you'll see with the 5200M GPU is around 29 khash/s.

Installing Cuda

Best to use the Nvidia provided repo; https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads The download you'll want is the RPM which will install a repo containing the Fedora Core 18 compiled binaries.
