The notes herein pertain to installing using OSXLatitude's bootpacks and the MyHack install method. I found the bootpack for the 10.9 Mavericks install to be the quickest route to getting a working 10.9 installation up and running.

What Works, what doesn't...

  • Keyboard
  • Trackpad - But see the thread here for more info.
  • Sound - Works fine!

Not Working...

  • Wifi - Doesn't work if you have the intel wireless, you'll need to swap for a Dell "DW1510" for OOB support.
  • Bluetooth - Should work, but my install doesn't currently see any devices.
  • Docking - Monitor isn't recognised when docked.

Booting The Installer

If you're booting into a black screen when trying to run the installer, it could be graphics related, try these in sequence;

-f -v PCIRootUID=0 npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes USBBusFix=Yes
-f -v PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes
-f -v PCIRootUID=0 npci=0x3000 GraphicsEnabler=Yes
-f -v -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes cpus=1 npci=0x2000

Working for me;

-f -v PCIRootUID=0
